About This Style
Street Style is a lookbook photograph. Your pet sits squarely to the camera in an oversized glossy quilted puffer with the hood down, a chunky gold chain over the collar, in front of a wall of hot pink.
Everything about the treatment is borrowed from streetwear brand photography: punchy direct flash from the front, a hard contact shadow on the floor, a saturated seamless backdrop and a wide lens that keeps the whole body in frame. There is no attempt to make it look like a painting. It is meant to look like a product shot, which is why it reads as current in a way our costume styles deliberately do not.
The joke lands because the posture is right. A dog sitting upright with its head slightly cocked, squared to a camera, is already doing the exact thing a model does in this kind of picture. Add a puffer jacket and the resemblance stops being a resemblance.
The colour behind them is not decoration. Flat saturated pink is what makes a black jacket read as glossy and a gold chain read as gold, and it is what makes the photograph feel like it belongs to this decade rather than to a gallery.
It is the most modern looking thing we make, and the furthest from what people picture when they hear the words pet portrait.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my pet shown full length in this style?
Yes. The whole body is in frame, sitting or standing squared to the camera, because that is how lookbook photography is framed. If you would prefer a head and shoulders treatment, The Nameplate and Ice Cold are both built that way.
Can I change the jacket or the background colour?
Yes. The default is a glossy black puffer against hot pink, and the style also runs as a cream and navy varsity jacket against concrete grey. When your first versions arrive, ask for either, or name the colours you want, and we will take it there.
Will a small dog look right in an oversized jacket?
Small dogs tend to look better in it than large ones. The oversized cut is part of the style rather than a fitting mistake, and the contrast between a small animal and a large jacket is exactly the proportion the look is built on.
