The Happy Return

Every pet owner has this exact moment on a loop and no photograph of it, because by the time a phone comes out both hands are already full of dog. The Happy Return paints it instead: the door still swinging, keys still in your pocket, and your pet already airborne.

The composition is built entirely around that half second. You are down on one knee just inside the doorway, caught mid-laugh with your head tipped back, not posing for anything.
